Mumble#

Low-latency voice chat for coordinating in-game (and everything else). Mumble is free and open source, with strong positional/low-latency audio — better for gaming than most alternatives.

How to join#

  1. Install the Mumble client

Grab it from mumble.info — Windows, macOS, Linux, and mobile are all supported.

  2. Run the audio & certificate wizards

On first launch Mumble walks you through microphone setup and generates a personal certificate (keeps your identity between sessions — just accept the defaults).

  3. Add the server

Server → Connect → Add New, then:

    • Address: cytonicmushroom.ddns.net
    • Port: 64738
    • Username: whatever you want to show up as

Accept the server certificate when prompted, and connect.

Tips#

Set a push-to-talk key (Settings → Shortcuts) unless your mic is very clean — it keeps background noise and keystrokes off the channel.

  • Move into whatever channel matches what you’re doing; drag yourself between channels freely.
  • If your audio is echoing or too quiet, re-run Settings → Audio Wizard — it fixes most issues in a minute.
